The Apostle wrote to encourage believers who were going through suffering for their faith. Among other things, he encouraged them to cast all their cares onto the Lord – trusting in His ability to handle every one of them. Peter, cautioned the believers to have self-control and be alert so they are not overtaking by the devil who wants to strike only when they were weak and vulnerable.
