The account of Acts chapter 15 began with the disagreement that erupted between the men from Judea and Paul and Barnabas when the former demanded circumcision of the Gentiles as a requirement for their salvation. To find a permanent solution to this problem, the Church decided to seek counsel from the Apostles in Jerusalem. It was during this meeting, that Peter made this profound statement to buttress his submission that God made no distinction between the Jews and Gentiles – for we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.
